Glorious Goop!
Be still my heart!
Goop recently opened its first Canadian pop-up last week in the toney neighbourhood of Yorkville and I absolutely needed to pop in for a meander.
* * sigh * *
As you may have surmised, I do have an affinity for toxin free beauty products and love unique lifestyle retail environments with curated assortments. Retail is a tough space to differentiate yourself, and I simply love the chic coastal vibe of this newest location.
Goop is a lifestyle brand founded in 2011,and is the brainchild of actress and wellness advocate Gwyneth Paltrow.
The website encompasses not only toxin free beauty products and espouses mindfulness and wellness. The retail locations also offer up a gorgeous assortment of product curated for the location’s specific audience draw.
The pop-up, much like its other bricks and mortar locations (London, Nantucket, and LA), has an easy, breezy aura that is hip and yet oh so comfortable.
I had the pleasure of meeting Eric, a Goop associate, who walked me through the store. His enthusiasm for the product is infectious, and I was not surprised to hear that many of the hot items he brought to my attention were almost sold out.
Much like the other pop-up locations, the collections are segmented into rooms so there is a lovely shopping intimacy given whatever you are seeking. Though the price tags are very much on the upper end of the scale, all the items are rather unique and as such quite memorable. (I think I may start my birthday and Christmas shopping early! 😉 )
The jewellery collection features the stunning works of Collete, Foundrae, Eriness, Sophie Ratner and Nancy Newberg .
I simply love how perfect all the pieces would work with the apparel selection. With a bit of boho and a bit of deco vibe, they are delicate and yet simply stunning.
Just look at this stunning ring by Nancy Newberg…. Swoon-worthy !
The home section of any store has a very special place in my heart. Naturally Gweneth’s cook book is featured, but other notables are as well to balance things out.

Milk glass… one of my casual chic favourites always….but milk glass in pink…..be still my heart! How delightful is this Mosser cake stand? I think a glorious strawberry stacked sponge cake would look delightfully decadent on this!
And when your kitchen tools need to have their game kicked up a notch, how glorious are these metal measuring cups and spoons?
For those of you who know me, I have this quirky soft spot for salt and pepper sets. I actually (along with food stuffs ) always seek out S&P sets when I travel. I love reliving the memorable moments well after the holiday is over and now I have family and friends ever so generously bringing glorious S&P sets. You know me well my dears!!
It goes without saying that I am quasi lusting ( well…..maybe not even quasi) for this gorgeous set from Atlas Mills.
Lastly, you know that you can always count on getting your Goop skincare products.
Having said all that, I love how this brand morphs and draws in local designers, and artists in whatever the market they plunk themselves down into.
In Toronto until September 22, 2019 check it out here.
…..and let me know what you think!
