Autumn….. truly it is quite possibly my favourite times of the year. With cooler days, the trees displaying their brilliance of colour against those clear blue skies and farmers’ markets showcasing their stunning harvest, I simply wish that the Canadian autumns lasted much longer!

As you have seen here and on social media platforms, I do have a deep love of supporting our farmers and all their efforts in providing beautiful and delicious food for us to enjoy. Every trip locally is always enjoyed both in experience and the deliciousness that ends up on my table in the days to come.

I have just had the most exquisite visit. Though I am in London rather frequently, I have not meandered to the Cotswolds in absolute ages. It has always been a result of an over-scheduled agenda and not by lack of desire. How absolutely wonderful to visit Daylesford Farm for their Autumn Harvest Festival!

A mere 90 minute train journey from central London to Kingham and a 30 minute hike (or 5 minute taxi ride 😉 ) it is a world apart from the hustle and bustle of the city and be ensconced in glorious countryside, fresh air and charm.

The Harvest Festival, which occurs annually in September, brings all things wonderful that is Daylesford to a fun, educational and beautiful celebration of the season.

The produce is lush and beautiful and the plethora of outdoor activities are creative and fun for all.

… Haven’t made a scarecrow before?   Well…. Why not give it a try here?

Or if monster building is your thing… well they have that covered too!

And what is an outdoor farm event without the scent of wood burning barbecue? With pork, chicken, corn all roasting in the open air you will be salivating and challenged with decision-making as to what to have for lunch.

This is a very small portion of the activities offered…there were many outdoor learning sessions to partake in.

The shop, I must say, is stunning capturing a vast array of products. I am always impressed when a collection of products is presented in a visually impressive and cohesive manner.

Clearly the focus is on health and sustainability and this was presented from toxin free cleaning and body products to home option solutions for a more sustainable world.

The challenge when travelling abroad is being prudent with your luggage and so a lot of difficult decisions were made for my personal choices. (I did however stock up my kidlette’s kitchen with a selection of jams, chutneys, honeys and cleaning products 😉 )

So if you have the opportunity to visit the Cotswolds, Daylesford Farm offers much more than simply a food shop. With a myriad of classes and workshops, spa, dining and private cottage accommodation it truly does offer a heavenly respite from a busy city or hectic life.

I am already looking forward to my next visit!
