A healthy shot of sunshine!
Well….hey…… hello Sunshine!!
Well ok….I will admit there may not be sunshine where you are ( nor me for that matter!!) but that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice a little bit of infusion to start your day on a healthy note!
I can’t lie…. I am a massive fan of ‘super shots’ in the morning. Ummm …y’all know this is the healthy shot variety …right???? 😉
Can I just say to start my day with this power shot of goodness blasts off any day on a great level on so many ways.
This is my very simple lazy recipe that I make at the weekend, pop it in a jar and then enjoy the lovely kick start healthy goodness as a morning shot…. What a great way to start your day on so many levels!
So though I do love the store bought shots ( as they are very convenient), I must say that I will make my week’s worth on the weekend so that when I come down to the kitchen I can slosh back a healthy bit of healthy goodness! The benefit of 1 hour’s effort is that for the same price of a storebought power shot is thatI have a week’s worth.
So why am I such a big fan of this shot?
The ingredients are simple and packed with awesome goodness for you!
The main ingredients: organic lemons, fresh ginger root and turmeric. So much goodness packed into this ray of sunshine.
Think about the simple ingredients:
Organic lemon
I love lemon added to my water. I am forever trying to get my water intake upped throughout the day…and this adds a gorgeous zing of flavour to do just that. Having said that, there are some amazing benefits from this sunshiny gorgeous beauty:
- Through the added hydration, it improves and hydrates your skin.
- Lemon assists in digestion
- It wakes up your metabolism ( …errr … I am ALL for that!)
- Great source of vitamin C
- And may assist in weight loss
Ginger
I absolutely am a huge fan of fresh ginger using it in so many of my meal prep and desserts. This spicy lil root is chock-a-block full of goodness for you too!
- It can reduce the discomfort of nausea or indigestion naturally
- It is an effective anti-inflammatory
- It is believed to be effective in improving brain function & protect against degenerative brain diseases such as Alzheimer’s
Turmeric
Gosh…what can I say about this? One of my favourites as it is the most widely known used medicinal herb/spice that I have used in so many recipes!
Did you know turmeric:
- Is a powerful antioxidant to promote good health
- Assists in controlling diabetes
- Helps lower cholesterol
- Can assist in the prevention & treatment of Alzheimer’s
- Is a natural anti-inflammatory and may relieve arthritic pain.
Wow
Can we just say a collective ‘wow’ ?
So much goodness that you can whip up in no time, store in a glass jar in the fridge and start each day over the course of your week with this kind of healthy awesome.
