Cheers to a new week…bring it on!
Welllll…. I let’s just say Mondays are always a grind but that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate the start of a new week.
It is a well known fact that I do love my bubbly whether it be for special family gatherings, traveling (because going to new locales or wonderful favourites requires a celebratory indulgence!), and always after one of my half marathons.
Though champagne is produced from grapes grown in the Champagne region of France, there are many renditions from other countries that will still bring a smile to my face.
Here are some champagne fun facts:
- On average 28,000 bottles of Champagne are served at Wimbledon each year
- In 19th century England, high society dandies thought that the best way to polish their boots was with Champagne.
- James Bond is a notable Champagne drinker, who has been spotted drinking Champagne more than 35 times in his films. At least he drinks it more than any other beverage
- In a 750ml bottle of Champagne there are 49 million bubbles… approximately.(I’ve tried counting them)
- Each second Champagne emits 30 bubbles
- Move over James Bond. Enter Winston Churchill. Winston Churchill gave Bond a serious run for his money, when it came to Champagne consumption. The Pol Roger Champagne house made a special pint bottle of Champagne for Churchill, that was to be served to him each day at 11 AM
Whether your bubbly of choice is champagne, prosecco, cava or sparkling wine…let’s raise a glass and say ‘Happy Monday…new week …fresh start’
