5 Great Gifting Hostess Gifts

There is something about autumn with the farmers markets resplendent with gorgeous abundance that draws me back to the kitchen for soul soothing savoury dinners and glorious soups.

Yes, the summer months were delightful with the beautiful salad greens and veg for salads, but now I am hunkering down for healthy comfort food.

The autumn and cooler months have us gather together indoors with friends and family. Whether for Thanksgiving or simply those ‘just because’ gatherings, here are my five suggestions for fabulous hostess gifts that they will love long after the get together.

Note: the suggestions outside of the Lapin Blond shop are not affiliates… they’re simply great things I love made by small business owners who very clearly have put a lot of love into their creations and one of my favourite cookbook authors.

  1. Recycled wine bottle tray & spreader set

Earth wine & Barrel is a fabulous company based in Nova Scotia. Their Etsy shop   is loaded with terrific environmentally responsible serve ware focused on all things wine.

I simply love this set as it is not only creative, but also its nod to waste diversion, this will be a beautiful piece for spreads as well as an olive oil/balsamic vinegar vessel.

  1. Laser cut wood coasters.

Made of Canadian birch wood, the grain is simply stunning and the wild life designs are simple yet elegant.   Perfect for those with cottages or those who simply revel in the great outdoors

Located in the rolling hills of Caledonia, Ontario Wood Pecker Design also offers custom options to make that gift truly personal and unique.  Why have basic coasters when you can have something that dials back to nature and is truly gorgeous?

  1. Live edge olive wood cheese board

Ok… so this is from the Lapin Blond shop and I have it here simply because the beautiful, unique grain of olive wood and the irregular live edge has this as our top sellers ever.

Whether for charcuterie, a delightful cheese board or for a beautiful platform for your favourite candles, the warmth of this wood will soon be a favourite!

  1. A cookbook they’ll Love

If you don’t already follow Half Baked Harvest on social media… you simply must! As the weather cools and days get shorter, her recipes are sure to soothe the soul and satiate the taste buds.

Being a self proclaimed foodie and fan of all things delicious, I collect cookbooks like a 10 years old would collect baseball cards (do they even do that these days??)

Let’s just talk about Teighan, the chef and author.

First of all …. absolutely adorable, totally unpretentious and clearly has a passion for food that resonates with me.

Coming from a family of ten and residing in Colorado, she brings a gorgeous aesthetic to all dishes. So young and so talented… I am a huge fan!!

You may not only want to gift this cookbook but get one for yourself – you will NOT be disappointed.

  1. Bring flowers in a vase to remember

If you’re like me, I always bring flowers to the host or hostess for whatever gathering. As a recipient I am always forever thankful for beautiful blooms. To simplify the gift, take a few gorgeous seasonal blooms and present in this gorgeous vase.

Perfect to use immediately, but even more so for those small snips of seasonal blooms or greenery to have by the bedside, guest bathroom or family room… how wonderful is that?

From beautiful British Columbia, Glasea Designs has a beautiful offer of vases that are delightful and whimsical.

So there you go with some of my truly favourite hostess gifts for your friends and family gatherings. Beautiful and memorable hostess gifts they’ll treasure. All truly wonderful in their own way, and will make the host so appreciative of your thoughtfulness.

What are your best hostess gifts ever received?  Please share in the comments.

xoxo – Sandra
